Brought to you by today’s Wayland journal correspondents Clara et Zack.
Bonjour de la France! We had a great day today in Montpellier! We went to the Lycée Pompidou first for breakfast and ate patisseries. There was also a jazz performance by French students.
We took the tram to town and had a picnic with items we bought from the supermarché. The fun really began when we were allowed to explore the city with a treasure hunt. Hitting sites such as the Arc de Triomphe and le Café Riche was entertaining. The only thing our group didn’t really find on the hunt was a hair from someone from Montpellier [long story]. Overall it was a great opportunity to see all the architecture and practice French! ~Clara
We were also welcomed by the French school’s director. After orientation, it was lunch time so we split into groups of three and were assigned certain foods to buy at Monoprix, a French supermarket. We made sandwiches and had a salad. It was an interesting experience going into the supermarket, where we might not have gone, and finding what we wanted. ~Zack
There was also an epic game of baby-foot.
Tomorrow, Wayland students spend the entire day shadowing their French friends au Lycée Pompidou.
